South Weber City encourages residents to celebrate safely and responsibly during the fireworks season. Before using fireworks, please review current restricitons, follow all safety recommendations,a nd take precautions to prevent fires, injuries, and property damage.

Fireworks are prohibited in designated restricted areas of South Weber City due to wildfire risk, proximity to open land, and other safety concerns.

Residents are responsible for knowing whether fireworks are permitted at their location before use. Restrictions apply regardless of property ownership.
Fireworks Laws and Allowed Dates
Residents must comply with all applicable Utah State laws and South Weber City ordinances regarding fireworks use.
Allowed dates and times for fireworks discharge:
July 2 – July 5
July 22 – July 25
Fireworks may only be discharged between 11 am and 11 pm. Hours extended until midnight on July 4 and July 24.
Please note that restrictions may change due to weather conditions, drought, wildfire activity, or emergency declarations.
Fireworks Safety Tips
Following basic safety practices can significantly reduce the risk of injuries and fires.
Before Lighting Fireworks:
- Read and follow all manufacturer instructions.
- Use fireworks only outdoors in a clear, open area.
- Keep a bucket of water and a charged garden hose nearby.
- Clear dry vegetation, weeds, and combustible materials from the area.
- Keep spectators at a safe distance.
- Never allow young children to handle fireworks without close adult supervision.
While Using Fireworks:
- Light one firework at a time.
- Never hold a firework in your hand while lighting it.
- Never point or throw fireworks at people, animals, vehicles, or structures.
- Do not use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
- Never attempt to relight a malfunctioning firework.
After Use:
- Soak all used fireworks in water before disposal.
- Check the area for smoldering debris.
- Dispose of fireworks only after they have been completely soaked and cooled.

- Remove combustible materials from your yard before celebrations begin.

Residents are encouraged to:
- Keep pets indoors during fireworks activity.
- Ensure pets have current identification tags or microchips.
- Create a quiet, secure indoor space.
- Exercise pets earlier in the day before fireworks begin.
Wildfire Awareness
South Weber City is committed to protecting our community from wildfire. Please avoid using fireworks during windy conditions, and pay attention to fire weather warnings and local restrictions. Immediately report any fire or smoke that may threaten property or open space.
Reporting Emergencies and Illegal Fireworks:
If a fire starts or someone is injured, call 911 immediately. Even if a fire appears to be extinguished, emergency personnel should evaluate the area to ensure it is safe.
